The largest river ports in Central Asia
The Termez River Port is the only international port in Uzbekistan and one of the largest river ports in Central Asia.
Located at the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, the port specializes in servicing export-import transport in conjunction with the Afghan port – Sher Khan and with Afghan marinas — Kelif and Hairatan for 30 years.
On average, the port handles about 25,000 tons of cargo per month, in particular:
1st In the export direction: industrial products such as metal cargo, cement, mineral fertilizers, wheat flour, building materials, refined products, etc.;
2nd Import direction: cotton, fruits, minerals and etc.
It should be noticed that the activity of the port is diversified and includes in addition to the provision of cargo handling services — customs clearance services, freight forwarding, issuance of phytosanitary and quarantine certificates and other related services.
Termez River Port serves as an important factor in strengthening socio-economic, friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
Since 2018, SGT has been an authorized and exclusive agent for cargo forwarding on base of Termez River Port.

The Termez River Port has a developed network of 4 km long access railways, which makes it possible to serve at least 100 railway wagons / platforms at a time.
The unloading of one train by the port (40 wagons / 1 platform) takes 3 hours.
The Termez River Port is a customs control zone and has covered warehouses, which makes it possible to store up to 30,000 tons of cargo for one-time storage, and container platforms containing up to 3,000 large-tonnage containers at a time.
Moreover, there are areas equipped with ramp access roads by railways that allow loading / unloading operations using wheeled vehicles on the territory of the port.
Arriving cargoes on the territory of the port on railway wagons and cars are unloaded and loaded onto dry cargo barges with a carrying capacity of 400 tons and further from the port are transported to the port of Hairatan through the Amudarya River.
The river port is equipped with a full range of transport and auxiliary equipment:
A third dry cargo barge is currently under construction and in 2019 it is planned to launch a modernized TDP-600 towing vessel with a capacity of 810 hp.
